We are thrilled to announce that Arrival Africa and The Good Company KE are officially joining forces with NURA as media partners for its upcoming cultural residency and showcase in Kilifi, Kenya, powered by NOISE and AlphaTheta.
NURA is a cross-cultural music initiative designed to reconnect the legacy of Jungle—a Black British genre with deep African rhythmic ancestry—with its roots.. This project is a carefully designed cultural intervention bringing together UK Jungle and Drum & Bass pioneers with emerging and established East African talent .
● Arrival Africa: This collaboration aligns perfectly with our dedication to meaningful cultural exchange . By documenting these sessions, we aim to provide a platform where global pioneers and Kenyan artists meet as peers and collaborators.
● The Good Company KE: Our focus is on innovative content that pushes boundaries . NURA’s "Off-Grid" content strand—capturing performances and conversations within Kilifi’s natural environment—will be broadcast on The Good Company YouTube channel in Q2 2026.
This residency marks a historic first: the pioneers of UK Jungle and Drum & Bass returning to Africa, not as guests, but as collaborators by working side by side with Kenyan artists to co-create new work at its source. Across a week of intensive DJ development, writing and production camps at Baobab Studios in Kilifi, 8 carefully selected Kenyan artists will collaborate with industry pioneers including Fabio & Grooverider, DJ Krust Darren J, Syren Rivers, and Kenyan innovator KÜrïbã.
What emerges will be innovation a new sound shaped by Kenyan rhythm, lived experience, and environment, fused with the legacy and technical foundations of Jungle and Drum & Bass. This process represents a pivotal cultural exchange with long-term impact for both local and global bass music ecosystems. The week culminates in NURAFEST, a landmark, open-to-the-public community showcase at Distant Relatives, Kilifi, on 6–7 February 2026.
This is more than a festival: it is a moment in history for East Africa’s bass culture. For the first time, Kenyan audiences will experience UK Jungle pioneers performing alongside Kenyan artists who have shaped, challenged, and redefined the sound through this residency – live, on African soil.
NURAFEST signals the beginning of a new chapter, placing Kilifi firmly on the global map as a site of innovation, exchange, and future-facing bass culture.
